A 21-year-old woman was allegedly kidnapped from her home in Bengaluru by a group of men from Rajasthan after her family opposed her marriage, triggering a dramatic chase during which the accused's speeding SUV hit several vehicles and left six people injured.

The incident came to light after the accused allegedly abducted Pooja, a resident of Melwas village in Rajasthan, who had married 23-year-old Om Prakash against her family's wishes around nine months ago. The couple had been living secretly in Bengaluru's Agrahara Dasahalli area since their marriage.

Family Allegedly Sent Men To Bring Woman Back

According to police, Pooja's family was unhappy with the marriage and allegedly sent four men from Rajasthan to Bengaluru to bring her back.

The accused reportedly reached the couple's residence, forcibly took Pooja and fled in a Hyundai Venue bearing registration number RJ 22 CC 9691.

Police said Pooja began screaming after being taken into the vehicle, following which Saddam, who was allegedly driving the SUV, panicked and drove away at high speed.

Speeding SUV Hits Several Vehicles

During the escape, the speeding vehicle allegedly collided with three to four two-wheelers, injuring six people.

The injured have been identified as 12-year-old Prithviraj, 9-year-old Yashika, Amul, Mani, Santosh and 57-year-old Jayalakshmi.

Jayalakshmi suffered a serious head injury and was admitted to the ICU, according to reports.

After the crashes, bystanders reportedly chased the SUV and managed to stop it. Videos circulating on social media purportedly show people pulling the accused from the vehicle and assaulting them.

Three Arrested, Main Accused Still Missing

Police arrested three men at the spot, Rakesh, 31, Karan, 25, and Ayan, 18, all residents of Rajasthan. Saddam, who allegedly drove the vehicle, remains absconding, and police are searching for him.

The Hyundai Venue used in the alleged kidnapping has also been seized.

Aunt's Alleged Role Under Probe

During the investigation, police found that Pooja had remained in contact with her aunt after her marriage.

Investigators suspect that these conversations may have helped the family discover the couple's location in Bengaluru. Police are also probing the allegation that Pooja's aunt contacted Saddam and asked him to bring her back.

The investigation is ongoing, with police searching for Saddam and examining the circumstances surrounding the alleged kidnapping and the subsequent road crashes.
