A man on gaurd duty assaulted a delivery boy in Dehradun's Jogiwala area. A video of the incident, which has gone viral on social media, shows the man who claims to be from the Indian Armed forces, brutally beating up the delivery boy.
The delivery boy had come to pick an order at the Reliance Mall and had allegedly taken a different route other than the one assigned for the mall entry. As per a Dainik Bhaskar report, the guard lost his cool over the delivery boy’s move. He then assaulted the delivery boy, knocking off his helmet.
The ex-serviceman can also be heard hurling abuses at the delivery boy, even as the latter repeatedly apologises and pleads with him to stop. The assault then escalates, with the angry man then seen kicking and punching the boy in a brutal attack. "I am from the army," the man can be heard saying in the video. "Don't hit him uncle," some onlookers say as they watch the delivery boy being assaulted.
Nehru Colony police swung into action after the video was widely circulated on social media. "Action has been taken after immediately taking cognizance of the viral video, and the accused ex-serviceman has been arrested. Efforts are underway to identify the delivery boy who was the victim in this case,” Nehru Colony Station House Officer (SHO) Devendra Chauhan said, as quoted by Dainik Bhaskar.
Earlier in June, the Madhya Pradesh Police solved the robbery of Rs 29.65 lakh in Indore. The robbers looted cash from Mukul Agarwal, an employee of scrap dealer Rakesh Goyal. According to police, the main conspirator, Chandrashekhar alias Chandu Mukati, was a retired Lance Naik of the Army.
Under pressure from heavy financial losses in cryptocurrency trading and mounting debt, Chandu formed a gang and carried out the robbery. Police arrested five accused and seized Rs 22.50 lakh, a car, and jewellery.
According to police, after the robbery, the accused went straight to Sanwariya Seth Temple in Rajasthan and donated Rs 1,11,000 from the looted amount. They also visited Ujjain and Nalkheda and performed a havan (worship) at the Baglamukhi Temple.
