Jantar Mantar Protest: Amid the ongoing protests against Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar, the Delhi Police on Tuesday registered four FIRs over alleged fake online posts circulated since October 10. The authority has also taken down around 500 such posts that were spreading rumours regarding the demonstrations. Apart from this, the social media handles in Pakistan also remain under scrutiny amid the ongoing probe, reported news agency PTI.
Pakistan's Role In Protests?
The probe has revealed that fake information were spread by the Pakistani social media handles during the large-scale demonstrations, reported Jagran, citing sources. These social media handles reportedly used Indian names to spread misleading videos and false news.
The accounts were created in such a manner that it appeared that the posts were published from India, the report suggested. The disturbing and fake videos were shared by these accounts since October 10 to disturb the law and order in the national capital.
'500 Such Posts Removed'
As per the reports, several false reports regarding deaths during the protests on October 10 were also spread by these handles. The Delhi police has also identified and removed around 500 social media posts that spread rumors during the demonstrations. The authority is also investigating the matter thoroughly with the help of the cyber cell.
What Delhi Police Said?

Apart from this, Delhi Police has also launched an awareness campaign against such handles spreading misleading and false information.
