Noida Elevated Road: An elevated road has been proposed to be built from Noida Sector 3 to Sector 57 to ease traffic congestion, particularly on Road 1 and improve road connectivity. The 5.5 kilometre long elevated road will reduce the current travel time of 30 minutes to 10 minutes.

The Noida Authority has entrusted IIT Roorkee with preparing the feasibility report and detailed project report (DPR) for the project, as the file of the project has been sent to the institute. The Noida Authority has appointed IIT Roorkee as the consulting agency to oversee all aspects of the project.

Previously, the Orion company had prepared the feasibility report. According to the report, the elevated road will be constructed, starting from near Rajnigandha Underpass in Sector 3, about 100 meters ahead, rather than from DND (Delhi-Noida Direct Flyway)  to Sector 57.

It was argued that the elevated road cannot be passed over the metro line built on the Rajnigandha underpass and DSC road, as there may be a defect in the structure. Now, the IIT Roorkee has been entrusted with the report work.

The Corridor To Be Traffic Light Free

At present, commuters have to navigate through five red lights, resulting in crawl-like traffic conditions that can take up to 30 minutes to cover the distance. The new elevated road will allow travellers to cover the same distance in just 10 minutes without stopping at any red lights.

The elevated road will provide direct connectivity from South Delhi via DND to Sector-57, reducing congestion and traffic woes in the city. The Noida Authority has already granted in-principle approval for the project, paving the way for its implementation.

IIT Roorkee To Lead The Way

In a first-of-its-kind collaboration, IIT Roorkee has been selected as the consultant company for the project. It will prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR), feasibility report, budget, and drawing design for the elevated road.
