Prajwal Revanna Sex Videos Case: Suspended JD(S) leader and Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, who is the prime accused in the Karnataka sex videos case and has been facing sexual abuse charges, will likely return from Munich on May 31. Revanna, the grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, has been at large since April when the sex videos case came to the fore after Karnataka State Commission for Women requested Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to order an investigation into the huge cache of explicit videos showing several women being sexually assaulted allegedly by him.

According to news agency PTI, quoting sources in the Special Investigation Team (SIT), Revanna has booked a return flight ticket to Bengaluru from Munich on May 30 and is expected to return to India in the wee hours of May 31. The SIT is maintaining vigil at the Kempegowda airport in Bengaluru to arrest him as soon as he lands So far two cases of sexual assault have been registered against Prajwal Revanna. The information about his return came two days after the suspended JD(S) leader released a video message in which he promised to appear before the SIT on May 31 and cooperate with the inquiry. The MP has twice cancelled the flight ticket from Germany in the past.

Revanna said that his trip was pre-planned as there was no case against him when the voting was held in Karnataka on April 26 for the general elections. He also alleged political conspiracy against him as he was "growing in politics." Revanna also extended an apology to his family, party supporters and the people of the state. Revanna also claimed that he "went into depression" and "isolated" himself as he accused Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders of sparking a discussion on the issue as part of an alleged conspiracy.

Meanwhile, the SIT conducted searches at Prajwal's residence in the district headquarters town of Hassan on Tuesday which went on till late at night. "Some incriminating materials have been seized," the SIT said. The SIT has also arrested two prime accused in connection with the obscene video case. The arrested have been identified as Naveen Gowda and Chetan. On Tuesday, two others were arrested for allegedly distributing pen drives containing obscene videos.

Prajwal, 33, the NDA candidate for the Hassan Lok Sabha constituency in the current Lok Sabha elections, left the country on April 27, a day after polling. Later, the case of his obscene videos was widely reported. Although the SIT has issued summons to appear in the hearing several times in connection with the same case, Prajwal Revanna has consistently evaded the hearing. Interpol has now issued a Blue Corner Notice and the court has also issued an arrest warrant against Prajwal Revanna.
