Pune Murder Case: Ketan Agarwal's death case is taking a dramatic turn as new details continue to emerge. Initially reported as an accident after he allegedly fell into a gorge at Lohagad Fort, the case is now being investigated as a possible murder conspiracy. As investigations continue, a key development in the case has come from a security guard posted at that Fort.
Security Guard Saw Ketan, Siya And Chetan
According to Jagran.com report, Lohagad Fort security guard Dheeraj Jadhav had seen Ketan, his fiancee Siya Goyal, and Siya’s alleged lover Chetan Chaudhary at the fort’s ticket counter on the morning of June 18. He revealed that Siya and Ketan were the first to arrive at the fort, and they were together. According to him, the couple tried to book their entry tickets online at the ticket counter, but they were unable to do so as there was no network connectivity on their phones.

The staff then informed the couple that mobile network connectivity was better at higher points inside the fort. They were advised to take a photo of the QR code scanner and complete the payment once they reached an area with better network coverage. The staff also told them to show the payment confirmation while returning.
CCTV Footage Shows Chetan Arriving Alone
A few minutes after they entered the fort, another visitor arrived alone. According to CCTV footage, this individual was later identified as Chetan. Chetan's appearance at the fort was unusual and difficult to ignore. He arrived wearing a hoodie that covered much of his face, making it hard to identify him. He was also wearing headphones and walked past the ticket counter without interacting with the staff.
According to ANI report, when a security guard stopped Chetan, he said he had come to the fort for exercise and would make the ticket payment while leaving. After that, he continued jogging further into the fort. The guard’s statement further supports what investigators have already gathered from CCTV footage; that is his visit to the fort was deliberate and planned.
Police say Chetan had reached the base of the hill earlier that morning, even before Siya and Ketan arrived. Officials believe he was waiting for them and later followed the couple up the fort. Moreover, his decision to wear a hoodie and cover his face despite temperatures touching 33 degrees Celsius caught the attention of investigators reviewing the CCTV footage.
What Has Happened So Far?
Based on the investigation so far, police suspect that Chetan and Siya conspired to kill Ketan. According to investigators, the two allegedly pushed him off a secluded cliff edge at the fort, sending him into a 400-foot-deep gorge. Siya reportedly told family members that Ketan had slipped while posing for photographs.
However, Ketan’s family rejected the accident theory, arguing that an experienced trekker was unlikely to lose his footing so easily. Following a formal complaint by the family, police registered a murder case and launched a detailed investigation.
