- Siya refused elopement to protect family's honor.
- Chetan revealed Siya's motive for Ketan's murder.
- Police uncovered truth after initial accidental death report.
The Pune Police have found out new details in the Ketan Agarwal murder case while interrogating Chetn, the boyfriend of the deceased's fiancée, Siya.
According to news agency PTI, police asked Chetan why he didn't consider eloping with Siya to avoid murder.
To this, Chetna replied that Siya was not ready to call off the engagement and elope with him, as it would have caused harm to her family's respect.
The official investigating the case told PTI, "During the interrogation, Chetan was asked why they did not consider running away and instead chose to eliminate Ketan. According to him, Siya was not in favour of calling off the engagement and eloping with Chetan, as she thought doing so would bring disrespect to her family," he said.
The case made headlines after police arrested the two for killing Ketan by pushing him into a 400-foot gorge in Lohagad Fort.
The murder took place on June 18, and a case of accidental death was registered as Siya informed the family that he fell off the cliff while taking photographs.

However, the case took an unexpected turn when the police found on the CCTV cameras that Siya and Ketan were followed by a man in a hoodie and a headset.
Siya and the suspect seemed to be signalling, which raised the police's suspicion. The probing team then checked the temperature on that day and found it to be 33 degrees Celsius.
"The man was wearing shorts and a hoodie. The front part of the hoodie was pulled so low that his face could not be seen. Additionally, the man was wearing a headset over the hoodie. In another footage clip, we noticed Siya suddenly looking back and, at the same time, the man in the hoodie suddenly sitting down," the official said.
The suspicion further grew as wearing a hoodie in 33 degrees wasn't normal. The man was later identified as Chetan. The police detained the duo, after which they confessed to murder.
Siya and Ketan got engaged in February and were scheduled to get married in a grand wedding ceremony at Udaipur in November, for which a palace had been booked.
The probe also found that multiple attempts to kill Ketan were made, including one at Lohagad Fort, which did not materialise.
Siya is also believed to have disappeared with Ketan's passport to cancel their Bali trip for a pre-wedding photoshoot.
