In an incident similar to hit and run, a man ran his car over several people, killing one, in Rajasthan's Dausa following a fight over the bursting of crackers in a wedding ceremony. The accused man, attending the ceremony from the groom's side, had an argument with the bride's relatives over bursting firecrackers outside the wedding venue. The man allegedly wanted to park his car where the bride's relatives were bursting the crackers, police said. 

The argument took a violent turn as the man ran his car over the people surrounding it. A video has gone viral on social media where several people can be seen lying on the ground, seemingly after the incident. The accused fled the scene post-incident; however, the police have assured that he will be arrested soon. The police concluded that the car belongs to the Sawai Madhopur district based on the number plate that fell during the incident. Lalsot Additional Superintendent of Police Dinesh Aggarwal stated that a team has been formed to investigate the case. "We will find and arrest him as soon as possible," Aggarwal was quoted as saying by NDTV.

Ramvilas Meena, the MLA of Lalsot constituency, was also present at the ceremony where the incident took place. He said that several of the injured people were rushed to the Lalsot district hospital. He further said that 8 people were referred to Jaipur post-first aid, where 17-year-old boy Golu Meena scummed to his injuries, Hindustan reported.

On August 10, three people, including two students, were killed in a road accident in Jaipur. Arun Kumar, Station House Officer, at Ramnagariya Police Station, said that a car collided with a mini-truck in an area near the NRI Circle. "The mishap occurred near the NRI Circle when a car collided with a mini-truck. All the three occupants of the car died," Kumar was quoted as saying by ETV Bharat.
