Rajkot fire news: The massive fire, that engulfed a gaming zone in Gujarat's Rajkot city on May 25 evening, has claimed over 27 lives, ANI reported. The rescue operation is still on and officials feared the count of casualties may rise. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to ascertain the causes of the incident and identify the people responsible. The five-member SIT will be headed by additional DG (CID, Crime) Subhash Trivedi.

- Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi on Saturday said the members of the SIT will reach Rajkot by 3 am and begin the probe. He said the CM will be informed about the findings. Sanghvi also visited the incident site Sanghvi and told ANI that one person was still missing and their priority was to find him

- The owner and the manager of the TRP game zone have been arrested and are being interrogated
- SIT head Subhash Trivedi said a detailed probe will be conducted and responsible persons will be identified
- Following the tragedy in Rajkot, the Gujarat DGP has mandated inspections of all children's game zones throughout the state. He said zones operating without a valid fire NOC or adequate fire safety equipment will be shut down immediately. This action comes amidst allegations that the TRP gaming zone in Rajkot lacked a fire NOC
- In a significant decision, the Rajkot Bar Association announced that no lawyer from the association will represent the culprits of the game zone fire tragedy in court
- Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel announced Rs 4 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 50 thousand to the injured
