Two Captains Among Four Indian Army Personnel Killed During Encounter In J-K's Rajouri; Gunfight Still Underway

JK Encounter Live:   Four army personnel including two officers were killed during an encounter which broke out early on Wednesday in the Bajimaal area of Dharmsal in Jammu Kashmir's Rajouri district. In the gunbattle, two army captains and two soldiers lost their lives and many others sustained injuries, officials said.

The injured including three soldiers have been shifted to a hospital, ANI reported. The firing is underway as of now as the terrorists remain in hiding taking the cover of thick forests.

Earlier, a gunfight erupted between security forces and terrorists in the Baji Maal area of Dharmsal in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri District. A joint team of Jammu and Kashmir police, Indian army and CRPF are engaged in exchange of fire, told the officials.

"A team of security forces was on a search operation in the Baji Maal forest area of Rajouri when contact was established with terrorists and a firefight erupted," officials said.

The gunbattle started after the joint team received inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area. As soon as the cordon was laid, terrorists reportedly opened fire on the forces, resulting in a befitting response. Reports suggest that two terrorists are trapped by the security forces.

Officials have said that 16 Corps commanders and Rashtriya Rifles’ Romeo Force commander are monitoring the operations closely.
