Shahberi Road Widening Project: The expansion work of Shahberi Road in Greater Noida is set to begin on March 25. This 3-kilometer road connecting Ghaziabad with Greater Noida will be widened by about 1.5 meters on both sides. The road expansion work will be completed in 20 days. Once the road is widened, it will become easier for people to travel to and from Crossing Republic and traffic jams in the area will also be relieved.

The Shahberi Road, which starts from the Eteda Roundabout in Greater Noida, is currently about 3 meters wide. With only one lane, traffic jams are frequent. Additionally, once the Noida Airport becomes operational, traffic congestion is expected to increase, owing to which authorities have planned to widen the road.

Thousands of vehicles pass through this road daily, often causing traffic jams. Once the widening is completed, the flow of traffic will be smoother. Moreover, the construction of an elevated road is also underway and its Detailed Project Report (DPR) is being prepared by the Central Road Research Institute (CRRI).

After the widening of Shahberi Road, the construction work of the underpass at the Char Murti Roundabout will be expedited. During the work, route diversions will also be implemented. Shahberi Road will be used as an alternative route, which is why the widening work is being carried out quickly. 

Route Diversions

During the road widening, Shahberi Road will have a diversion for 20 days starting from March 25. 

Vehicles travelling from Eteda Roundabout via Shahberi towards Ghaziabad will have to take a 130-meter road through Gaur Chowk and Tikari Roundabout to reach their destination. Vehicles travelling from Tilpata via Shahberi towards Ghaziabad will need to turn right at the Ek Murti Roundabout and proceed through Roza Chowka, Chaprola Railway Crossing, and Lal Kuan to reach their destination.

Vehicles coming from ABES, Ghaziabad/NH-24 to Shahberi and heading towards Noida/Greater Noida should avoid Shahberi Road and take the NH-24/Vijaynagar Bypass Road, passing through the 130-meter road, Tikari Roundabout and Gaur Chowk.
