Shimla AC Trains: Trains with AC coaches will soon start in the Shimla-Kalka section. The General Manager of Northern Railways, Ashok Verma, found out flaws during the investigation and ordered to rectify them as soon as possible and equip the coach with well-maintained modern facilities. The Railways will announce the fare after the work is completed.

Apart from AC coaches, the train on the Shimla-Kalka section will also have CCTV cameras, a fire-alert system, linear LED lights, heating, cooling AC package and much more. With the advancement of the train coaches, the fare of the train is likely to be hiked.

Flaws Found During The Investigation

The General Manager of Northern Railways visited the section and found various flaws in the coaches. The flaws were monitored carefully, and instructions to rectify them have been given to the engineers.
- The cooling temperature in AC coaches is not well maintained, as the temperatures do not run below 25 degrees Celsius.
- The cooling capacity of the ACs was also not good.
- The air delivery duct of the AC was blocked, so cold air was released partially.
- The material used in the air duct was not good.
- There was no way of opening the emergency window of the AC coach.

Modern Facilities In The Train

The newly built AC coaches of the train are equipped with modern facilities. Though flaws were detected, the AC coaches have 360-degree CCTV cameras, a heating and cooling AC package, a fire alarm system, anti-ultraviolet coated window glass, power windows, linear fans and linear LED lights. There are other arrangements made for passengers in the AC coaches. Once the flaws are rectified, the train will run in the Shimla-Kalka section, providing a comfortable travel experience to the tourists.
