The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise has begun across several states, with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) distributing enumeration forms for voters to verify their details and ensure their names remain on the electoral rolls. While BLOs are carrying out the door-to-door process, citizens are advised to recheck their voter status to avoid any last-minute issues during elections.
Steps To Download Voter List
1. Visit the official Election Commission of India website (direct link available).
2. On the homepage, select the “PDF E-Roll” option.
3. A page will open displaying links to the electoral rolls of all states. Choose the state where you are registered as a voter.
4. Select your district from the list provided.
5. After choosing the district, you will see a list of constituencies. Click on the constituency you belong to.
6. You will then see a list of polling stations under that constituency. Click “Final Roll” next to your polling station.
7. The voter list will appear, and you can download your details.
8. Alternatively, you can search your name in the voters’ list by entering your EPIC number.
How To Search Your Name In E-Roll
Visit the official website of the Election Commission of India and click on the ‘Search Your Name in E-Roll’ option. Enter your EPIC number along with the required details, then click ‘Search’.
The EPIC number, printed at the top of your Election Photo Identity Card, is essential for checking your voter details and is also required if you wish to download your voter ID card online.
Steps To Download Voter ID Online
1. Visit the official Voter Services Portal.
2. Enter your mobile number, password and captcha code, then click ‘Request OTP’.
3. Enter the OTP received on your mobile number and click ‘Verify & Login’.
4. Go to the ‘E-EPIC Download’ tab.
5. Choose either ‘EPIC No.’ or ‘Form Reference No.’ as your search option.
6. Enter the EPIC number or Form Reference Number, select your state and click ‘Search’.
7. View your Voter ID details on the screen and click ‘Send OTP’.
8. Enter the OTP and click ‘Verify’.
9. Click ‘Download e-EPIC’ to get your digital Voter ID card.
What Are The EC Rules On Voting?
As per the Election Commission of India, only individuals whose names are listed in the official voter roll are eligible to vote. To make the verification process easier, the ECI provides an online system that allows citizens to download the voter list and check whether their name is included.
