Opposition Condemns State Government

The case has triggered widespread outrage with the Leader of Opposition Edappadi K. Palaniswami sharply criticising the ruling DMK government in Tamil Nadu. “The DMK government must hang its head in shame. I strongly condemn the Stalin administration for forcing women to fear those who are supposed to protect them - the police,” Palaniswami said.

However, the DMK maintained that stringent measures are being taken in all cases, with legal proceedings being expedited to deliver justice and secure convictions.
