Tamil Nadu Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that the coastal regions of Tamil Nadu are likely to witness light to moderate rain in the upcoming days. Along with the heavy rainfall, these regions are also expected to receive thunderstorms and gusty winds. Apart from this, several other districts are also likely to witness a drop in temperature and fog in the early hours of the day. The capital city Chennai is also expected to witness a cold wave and a drop in temperature for the next few days. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
While providing details, the weather department stated that several regions of southern Tamil Nadu, Delta districts, and Karaikal are set to witness light to moderate rainfall in the upcoming days. These regions are likely to witness rain till December 18, leading to waterlogging in some of the regions. The IMD stated that these regions are also set to witness thunderstorms and lightning.
The capital city Chennai is likely to witness cloudy skies and fog in the early hours of the day for the next few days. The IMD stated that the minimum temperature is likely to drop by two to three degrees Celsius, leading to inconveniences. While the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 29 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 21 degrees Celsius. The commuters are likely to face inconvenience in the morning hours due to the presence of dense fog.
The weather department has advised the fishermen to follow the guidelines and maintain a distance from the water bodies for the next few days. Apart from Tamil Nadu, the coastal regions of several other states, including Kerala and Karnataka, are also set to witness heavy rain in the upcoming days.
