In a brutal murder case that took place in Delhi, a man allegedly killed his pregnant wife and three daughters in the city’s Samaypur Badli area. As per the details, the accused killed his two-month pregnant wife and three daughters by slitting their throats at the family home. A 27-year-old pregnant woman, identified as Anita and her three daughters, aged 3, 4 and 5 years, were found dead by their relative and neighbours. Their dead bodies were found in a room on the ground floor, the police said.
“The killings came to light around 8 am when neighbours alerted the police. A police team from Samaypur Badli police station rushed to the spot and found the bodies of the woman and the three children lying inside a ground-floor room in a pool of blood,” Deputy commissioner of police (outer north) Hareshwar Swami said.
The investigation into the horrifying murder is underway, but the initial police probe suggests that the man might have killed his family because he preferred a son, police were quoted as saying by PTI.

Throat Slit, Windpipe Damaged
The police said that sharp edged weapon was used to cut the throats of the victim. The killings were so brutal that their windpipes had been cut. The Kewat, who worked as a vegetable seller in Azadpur mandi, lived in a one-room accommodation in Chandan Vihar with his wife Anita and three daughters. Kewat’s two brothers lived in a rented place a few streets away.
The bodies were first spotted by Kewat’s 10-year-old nephew, who wanted to go to Azadpur Mandi with Kewat on Wednesday morning.
“He had been pestering us that he wanted to go to the market so we told him to go with Munchun. Around 6:30-7am, he went to their house,” Anita’s sister-in-law Sugni Devi, 36, said.
Main Gate Was Closed From Outside: Kewat’s Nephew
Describing the ‘gory’ incident, the boy said that the main gate was closed from the outside, so he opened it and went inside. “Their room’s door was open but the curtain was raised. I went inside and found them unconscious with blood all around,” the boy added.
Police raised suspicion about Kewat intoxicating his wife and daughters before killing them. “They said that the couple had a fight but they did not hear anything except loud voices so we don’t know the cause of the fight,” the officer said. Investigators who accessed the CCTV footage saw the accused running, around 5am, from the street close to home. “His phone was switched off in Jahangirpuri,” an investigator told HT, quoting neighbours.
Originally from Bihar’s Patna, Kewat lived in Delhi with his family for the past two years. A case under Section 103(1) (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been registered, and multiple teams have been formed to trace and apprehend Kewat, police said.
