Winter Trains Cancellation News: With dense fog expected to blanket northern India for the next three months, North Eastern Railway (NER) has announced the cancellation of 24 trains and reduced frequency of 26 others, including several popular Humsafar and Bagh Express services, starting December 1.
According to NER Chief Public Relations Officer Pankaj Kumar Singh, heavy fog drastically reduces train speed and line capacity during winter. “To ensure smooth running of high-demand trains with better occupancy, we have cancelled low-occupancy services and curtailed the frequency of several others till February 15,” he said.
