Weather Update: Delhi woke up to light rain on Wednesday morning, just a day after the national capital recorded its earliest 30-degree Celsius-plus February temperature in five years. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded a yellow alert for Delhi, warning of very light to light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds of 30-40 kmph during the afternoon.
The weather department further stated that under the influence of an active western disturbance, isolated light to moderate rainfall and snowfall are also likely over the Western Himalayan Region on February 18.

The residents of the national capital woke up to light rain or drizzle on Wednesday morning, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a yellow alert for Wednesday.

- Similar conditions are expected to persist throughout the day, with the IMD forecasting gusty winds of 30-40 kmph during the afternoon.
- Delhi is set to experience generally cloudy skies on Wednesday, February 18.
- Rain is anticipated to bring temporary relief from the rising temperatures. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 27 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is forecasted to drop to 14 degrees Celsius.
UP, Rajasthan And Haryana Weather Update
- Light rainfall is also likely over parts of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan over the next two hours, including Sonipat, Kharkhoda, Charkhi Dadri, Mattanhail, Jhajjar, Farukhnagar, Kosali, Mahendargarh, Sohana, Rewari, Palwal, Narnaul, Bawal, Nuh, Aurangabad and Hodal in Haryana; Bagpat, Khekra, Modinagar and Pilakhua in Uttar Pradesh; and Bhiwari, Tizara, Khairthal, Alwar, Viratnagar, Nagar, Laxmangarh and Rajgarh in Rajasthan.
- Very light to light rainfall is likely in Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Narwana, Karnal, Fatehabad, Assandh, Safidon, Barwala, Jind, Panipat, Adampur, Gohana, Gannaur, Hansi, Tosham and Rohtak in Haryana; Shamli, Kandhla, Khatauli, Sakoti Tanda, Hastinapur, Baraut, Daurala, Meerut, Kithor, Garhmukteshwar, Hapur, Gulaoti, Siyana, Sikandrabad, Bulandshahar, Khurja, Jattari, Nandgaon and Barsana in Uttar Pradesh; and Kotputli and Deeg in Rajasthan.
Snowfall In Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal
According to the latest weather bulletin, isolated rainfall or snowfall is likely over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh on February 18, and over Uttarakhand on February 18 and 19.
Dense Fog Alert
Isolated areas of Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam are expected to experience dense fog conditions during the morning hours till February 19.
The weather department has advised residents to take necessary precautions and follow official weather updates to stay vigilant. Fishermen have been urged to avoid venturing near the sea from February 18 to 22.
