Cold weather and dense fog have gripped the entire north India. The harsh weather conditions have largely impacted the commutation owing to the poor visibility. A thick layer of fog was seen in UP’s Sambhal in a video shared by news agency ANI. The early morning visuals from the Moradabad-Sambhal Highway show vehicles moving amid hazy weather conditions.
The poor visibility has also impacted the operations of the trains across north India. Several trains were reported delayed due to fog and low visibility in the national capital. People were seen waiting at the New Delhi railway station in a video shared by ANI.

The temperature dipped to 6 degrees Celsius on Thursday morning in the national capital. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted dense fog in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab till December 31. Many flights have been delayed today.

Besides, as many as 22 trains are running late in the Delhi area, ANI reported quoting the Railways department.

“Dense Fog Advisory for Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, north Rajasthan & north Madhya Pradesh. Be careful while driving or outing through any transport. Use fog lights while driving. Be in touch with airlines, railways and state transport for schedule of your journey,” the IMD said in an X post.
Road accidents have become quite common due to extremely poor visibility on roads across north India. One person was killed and 12 others injured after multiple vehicles collided on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway. In Bareilly, a speeding truck rammed into a house near the Bareilly-Sultanpur highway.

A pile of over 12 vehicles was witnessed on Yamuna Expressway after a chain collision due to poor visibility.
