Telangana minister and Congress leader Konda Surekha, apologised on Thursday for her remarks over the divorce of actors Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya. The apology came after a heavy backlash as top movie stars and the fans slammed Surekha for her remarks. Although she apologised to Samantha and Chaitanya, she emphasised that she will not spare KTR.
"Whatever I have said was based on our internal sources from the film industry. I may have reacted angrily, but whatever I have said is the truth. I have not hidden anything. I won’t spare KTR," she said, as quoted by News 18.
Earlier, Konda Surekha claimed that BRS working president KTR was the reason behind the divorce of Samantha and Naga Chaitanya. She further claimed that because of him, Samantha had to leave the industry early and get married. However, she faced backlash from the Telugu film industry. Later, KTR filed a police complaint against Surekha, demanding an unconditional apology from her over the remarks. Amid backlash, Surekha apologised to Samantha and claimed that she had no intention of hurting the actress.
