Jharkhand Assistant Acharya Recruitment: Social Science Results Revised, 2,748 Selected

The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) has released the revised results for the Social Science subject under the Graduate Trained Assistant Acharya (teacher) recruitment. A total of 2,748 candidates have been declared successful in the revised result, down from 3,033 in the earlier announcement, meaning 285 fewer candidates have passed.

The revision follows a directive from the School Education and Literacy Department after it was found that several reserved category candidates in the earlier results had been given double reservation benefits, contrary to a Supreme Court order. With this update, the recruitment process for the Social Science subject is now complete.

Out of 26,001 total posts, only 9,348 candidates have been selected so far, leaving 16,653 vacancies, most of which are in the para-teacher category. The vacant posts include 6,667 for Intermediate Trained Assistant Acharyas (Classes 1 to 5) and 9,986 for Graduate Trained Assistant Acharyas (Classes 6 to 8). 

Previously, results for Mathematics, Science, and Language subjects for both categories had already been released, and some candidates have received appointment letters. Plans are underway to organise a large appointment ceremony in Ranchi after Durga Puja.

The JSSC noted that ongoing Jharkhand High Court hearings on two petitions related to the Assistant Acharya recruitment may lead to further amendments in the results, including allocated districts. In addition, the Viplav Dutta & Others vs. State Government & Others case has caused results for certain candidates and related vacancies to be kept pending. Ambiguities in mandatory certificates have also led to some results being held, which may be updated following Education Department guidelines.
