Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday distributed appointment letters to 19 newly selected candidates of the Urban Development and Housing Department at the Jharkhand Mantralaya. The event also marked the launch of the new logo and website of Jharkhand Tourism and the Jharkhand Tourism Development Corporation.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is committed to all-around development and continuous efforts are being made in every sector. He urged the recruits to work with dedication, as their role will be crucial in ensuring better civic facilities for urban residents.
Highlighting the increasing migration from villages to cities, Soren stressed the importance of systematic and planned city development. He warned that unplanned expansion could lead to serious challenges and called for sustainable growth of urban areas.
Speaking on tourism, the Chief Minister said Jharkhand is blessed with natural beauty and cultural heritage, which has long remained underdeveloped. The government is now taking steps to promote tourism on the national and international stage. The new tourism logo and website aim to showcase the state’s destinations and attract more visitors.
Soren added that developing tourist spots will not only boost the economy but also create new employment opportunities, particularly for rural communities. Promotion of local products will also benefit people living in remote areas.

The event was attended by Minister Sudivya Kumar, Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji, Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari, and other senior officials.
