In view of the increasing cold and intensifying cold wave conditions in Jharkhand, the district administration has taken a precautionary decision. According to a special bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department’s Meteorological Centre in Jharkhand (Ranchi), a warning for severe cold and cold wave conditions has been issued for the state until further notice. Ranchi district has been identified in the "Yellow Zone" category, indicating the possibility of a more severe impact from the cold weather.
Suspension Of Classes (KG To 12th)
Keeping this weather situation in mind, an order has been issued under Section 163 of the BharatiyaNagarik Suraksha Sanhita to suspend academic activities for classes KG to 12th in all government, non-government, and private schools within the Ranchi district from December 27, 2025, to December 31, 2025. Regular classes will not be held in schools during this period.
The district administration has instructed school management to ensure strict compliance with this order to prevent any adverse effects on students' health. The administration believes that the risk of illness among young children and adolescents increases during extreme cold; therefore, this decision has been taken as a precautionary measure.
Exemption For Pre-scheduled Exams
However, schools where pre-scheduled examinations are to be held during this period have been granted a partial exemption from this order. Such schools may conduct the examinations at their discretion, but they have been instructed to pay special attention to the safety and convenience of the students during this time.
The administration has also appealed to parents to take necessary precautions to protect their children from the cold and not to let them venture outside unnecessarily.
Celebration Of Veer Bal Diwas
Veer Bal Diwas was observed with reverence and enthusiasm on Friday at Jharkhand Public School in Mohan Nagar, Dakra. The program commenced with the offering of floral tributes to the portraits of Sahibzada Fateh Singh and Sahibzada Zorawar Singh.

On this occasion, the school Principal, Abhishek Kumar Chauhan, addressed the students and highlighted the significance of Veer Bal Diwas. He stated that the sacrifice of the Sahibzadas is an unparalleled example of courage, devotion to faith, and patriotism, which inspires us to follow the path of truth and inner strength.
During the event, debate, painting, and sports competitions were organised for the students. The children participated enthusiastically and showcased their talents. Through these competitions, a development of patriotism, creativity and sportsmanship was evident among the students.
