As we are ready to celebrate the 11th International Yoga Day on June 21, 2025, Patanjali Yogpeeth has initiated a large public awareness campaign in Kurukshetra, Haryana, to promote yoga as a holistic approach to living a healthy life. The campaign is being led by Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev and is organised in partnership with the Haryana Yoga Commission and the AYUSH Department. The primary objective of conducting such a large-scale awareness campaign is to make the Yoga Day celebrations at Brahma Sarovar, Kurukshetra, a grand and memorable event.

According to Bhai Rakesh Kumar ‘Bharat’, the national coordinator of Patanjali Yoga Samiti, this year’s Yoga Day celebratory event is expected to have huge participation from yoga lovers across the country. Despite the hot summer weather, Patanjali’s volunteers are going door-to-door and from village to village, encouraging people to take part in this event. To make the event a success and bring the masses, the volunteers are conducting yoga training sessions, interacting with communities, and inviting everyone to join the main event.

Yoga sessions have already started in schools, educational institutions, community centres, and other public places across the Kurukshetra district, including Pipli, Shahabad, Pehowa, Thanesar, and Ladwa. Patanjali Yogpeeth is also organising Yoga camps in many villages, including Rodi Shahidan and Angrawali Dharamshala near Ismailabad. The idea is to promote the numerous benefits of yoga for physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. Baba Ramdev wants people to understand that Yoga can help them live a disease-free life.

Considering the importance of Yoga, government officials and local leaders are also providing their full cooperation to this event. Dignitaries like former Union Minister Subhash Sudha, Deputy Commissioner Neha Singh, and SP Nitish Angrawali recently attended yoga protocol sessions at Dronacharya Stadium to show their administrative support for this noble initiative by Patanjali.

While the event is slated to take place in Kurukshetra on June 21, Patanjali teams from other states like Uttar Pradesh and Punjab have also come together with local volunteers to strengthen the campaign. To show their support for women's empowerment, Patanjali has graciously involved women to be a part of this wonderful event. Female yoga instructors, sadhvis(women spiritual leaders), are conducting special sessions in both rural and urban areas to maximise women's participation in the initiative.

In order to reach more people and interest them in joining the event, this campaign and initiative is also actively promoted on social media. This would help in attracting the youth who are interested in becoming a part of International Yoga Day. While Baba Ramdev and Patanjali Yogpeeth are leading this event, local spiritual leaders, senior citizens and youth groups are working hard to make this event at Brahma Sarovar a big hit.
