If you are looking for natural remedies to help add moisture to your skin, here are some effective ingredients that you can find at your home and use for treating dry skin. Ways To Treat Dry Skin At Home
1. Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is one of the most effective moisturisers to nourish dry skin. It is a popular skincare ingredient which is applied raw and has immense benefits for skin health. Coconut oil is an abundant source of saturated fats that protect the skin against damage. The presence of amino acids and fats in coconut oil makes it an excellent moisturiser for the skin.
2. Milk
The creamy texture of milk can work as a great skincare ingredient. Milk is a great source of lactic acid that has excellent moisturising properties. To use oil for moisturising your skin, you can take a small cup of milk, add a few drops of lime juice into it and mix well. Apply it evenly over your face and other dry areas of the skin and let it dry for about 5-10 minutes. Once it dries, wash your face with regular water.
3. Aloe Vera
The magical benefits of aloe vera for skin and hair health are well-known. Aloe vera is a great skin moisturiser due to its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. It is known as a cooling agent and has humectant properties that play a major role in hydrating dry skin, resulting in smoother and supple skin.
4. Strawberry
Strawberries are an excellent source of vitamin C content that promotes healthy skin. The presence of vitamin C helps in retaining water and moisture in the skin and keeps the skin smooth and plump. To use strawberries for dry skin, you can mash two to three strawberries to form a thick pulpy paste. Now, add one tablespoon of honey to the paste, mix well and apply the dry skin generously. Let it dry for about 10-15 minutes and wash your face with regular water.
5. Green Tea
Green tea is one of the most popular beverages consumed for weight loss. Not just this, green tea can also be used as an active ingredient for skin moisturising. It is a great source of vitamin E and theanine, that promote hydration and leave the skin nourished and soft. To use green tea for dry skin, take two green tea bags and steep them in hot water. Leave it aside to cool down and add one tablespoon of honey to it. Mix it thoroughly and apply over the dry areas of the skin. Wash it off after 10 minutes with regular water.
