Maharashtra Weather: Maharashtra is currently grappling with severe weather conditions. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert, indicating the potential for heavy rainfall at isolated places in the state. The regions under the IMD’s yellow alert include Palghar, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg. These areas are expected to experience intense showers, with Nashik and Kolhapur in the ghats also forecasted to witness heavy rainfall in isolated pockets, accompanied by light to moderate rain in the plains.

Mumbai Weather

IMD has also issued a yellow alert for Mumbai, the state’s capital, on August 5, indicating the potential for strong winds and heavy rain in the city. Previously, Mumbai was under an orange alert, but the situation has now been downgraded to a yellow alert. However, the IMD has maintained a warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall in Palghar, Thane, and Raigad until August 6.

Pune Weather Today

Additionally, Pune and Satara districts are currently under an orange alert, with expectations of heavy rainfall in isolated areas of the ghats and light to moderate showers in the plains. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has deployed two teams in Balewadi and Chinchwad, Pune, due to the ongoing rainfall. Flood warnings have been issued for low-lying areas in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, as continuous dam water releases contribute to the rising flood risks. Motorists are cautioned about low visibility and landslide risks on the ghat sections, and residents in vulnerable areas are urged to take appropriate precautions.

Nashik Weather Today

Meanwhile, the Nashik district in Maharashtra is facing a severe flooding, with floodwaters spreading extensively across the Goda Ghat region, causing substantial damage to both life and property. The persistent heavy rainfall over the past two days has led to a rise in the Godavari River's water levels, heightening concerns among residents and officials.

The escalating water levels in the Godavari River are exacerbating the flood situation, submerging not only Goda Ghat but also several surrounding areas. This severe inundation has disrupted road traffic, making it challenging for residents to leave their homes, as many roads and bridges are completely underwater, creating substantial difficulties for emergency services and worsening the overall crisis.
