Mumbai Airport Bomb Threat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai received a bomb threat on Wednesday afternoon from an unidentified caller. The individual informed security personnel that a passenger carrying explosives was on a flight.

According to a News 18 report, he Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) control room at Terminal 1 (domestic) received the call, in which the caller claimed that a man named Mohammad was travelling from Mumbai to Azerbaijan with explosives. The call was abruptly terminated around 3 PM and the caller did not provide specific flight details.

In response to the threat, the CISF promptly alerted the Sahar Police Station, which dispatched officers to the airport to conduct a thorough investigation. Security measures have been heightened at the airport as a precaution. Police are currently verifying passenger details to ensure the safety of everyone present.

This incident adds to a recent surge in hoax bomb threats targeting Indian airlines, causing flight delays and increased security. About two weeks ago, Nagpur Police arrested 35-year-old Jagdish Uikey, an author with a previous arrest record, for allegedly being behind several bomb threat hoaxes. His emails were traced to the recent threats, sparking widespread panic and prompting heightened security measures.

In separate incid, an Indigo flight from Nagpur to Kolkata, carrying 187 passengers and six crew members, made an emergency landing in Raipur following a bomb threat on Thursday morning. Raipur Senior Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh confirmed that the landing occurred after airport officials received the threat alert. The plane landed safely, and security protocols were activated immediately to ensure the passengers' safety. The authorities are investigating the origin of the threat and have implemented necessary safety measures at the Raipur airport.
