Mumbai News: A 27-year-old woman lost her life after falling from the 11th floor of her workplace, the Supreme Business Park in Powai, near Mumbai. The incident occurred on Thursday evening while she was preparing for her manager's birthday celebrations.
The victim, identified as Jinal Vora, was an employee at an insurance firm. According to Powai police, she fell from an emergency window in the office pantry while taking a break to drink coffee. The fall happened around 8 PM and she landed in the garden area on the 10th floor, suffering severe head injuries.
Colleagues who witnessed the fall quickly rushed to her aid and transported her to Hiranandani Hospital. Despite their efforts, Vora succumbed to her injuries the following morning at 8 AM.
The Times Of India report quoted a police officer from Powai station stating that, "Vora accidentally fell while having coffee near the emergency window. At the time, her colleagues were busy decorating a cake for the birthday celebration." The police have begun collecting statements from the office staff and have also requested CCTV footage from the premises to investigate further.
Initial inquiries revealed no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident and Vora's family has not raised any concerns. Consequently, the police registered an accidental death report (ADR).
According to TOI, Jinal Vora's husband, Siddharth Kakka, a practising lawyer, expressed his shock, stating, "I received a call from her office saying she had fallen due to drowsiness. It wasn't until I arrived at the office that I realised the seriousness of the situation." Kakka was at home in Borivli when he learned about the incident shortly after 8 PM.
Authorities have classified the incident as an accidental fall, confirming that Vora lost her balance while near the emergency window in the pantry.
