Mumbai Water Cut: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced a supply cut for 30 hours on December 1 and 2 due to essential maintenance work on the city’s water pipelines. Residents in the affected areas have been urged to plan their day to avoid inconvenience.

Why BMC Has Announced Water Cut In Mumbai

The civic body, BMC, has announced the water cut due to the essential maintenance work in the water supply pipeline. As per the officials, the work involves connecting a 2,500 mm diameter water pipeline to the existing 3,000 mm main water pipeline near the Amar Mahal underground tunnel shafts (1 and 2), located at the Cheda Nagar Junction, Ghatkopar East, and hence, the parts of Mumbai will have to bear the inconvenience of water cut on Monday and Tuesday.

What Time Will Mumbai Water Cut Occur

As per the information shared by the department, the maintenance is scheduled to begin on Monday, December 1, 2025 at 10 am and will continue until Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at 4 pm, a total duration of 30 hours.

During the above-mentioned time period, some of the affected areas will experience total water outage, while some other areas will face low water pressure.

Where Will Mumbai Water Cut Take Place; Check affected Areas

The Mumbai water outage will take place in 11 wards of Mumbai on Monday and Tuesday. Here’s the area-wise outage and low-pressure water supply details-

Affected Areas In A Ward: BHR Water Reservoir supply area – including St. George Hospital, P D’Mello Road, Ramgad slum, Reserve Bank of India, Naval Dockyard, GPO junction to Regal Cinema junction, Shahid Bhagat Singh Road area. On December 1, these areas will experience low water pressure and a total supply outage on December 2.

List of affected areas in B Ward: Wadi Bandar, Dongri A and B, BPT area, Babul Tank area – including areas such as Nandalal Jani Road, Umar Khadi, Noorbagh Chinchbandar, Samuel Mohammud Umar, Koilal Road, Kazi Sayyed, Navroji Tekdi. On December 1: Low water pressure. On December 2: Water supply suspended in specific zones

‘C’ Ward: Babul Tank and Mumbai Central areas – including Ibrahim Rahimutulla Road, Maulana Shaukat Ali Road, Brigadeer Usman Road, Nizam Road, various Kika and Bapugohalla routes. Water supply will remain suspended on December 2.

Mumbai Water Cut In ‘E’ Ward: Areas under Nasbit, Mumbai Central, Babul Tank, F South, Dockyard Road, Haathibag, BPT, Re Road, Mount Road, J.J. Hospital supply zones. The areas will face a low-pressure water supply on December 1 and a total water outage on December 2.

‘F North’ Ward: Sheev (West and East), Wadala East, Dadar East and West, Korba Mithagar, Pratiksha Nagar, Shastri Nagar, New Cuff Parade, Rowlley High Level Tank, CGS Central Employee Colony. On Dec 1: Low water pressure. On December 2: Water supply suspended in multiple zones

‘F South’ Ward: Abhyuday Nagar, hospitals – KEM, Tata, MGM, Wadia, Sewri, Mumbai Port Trust areas, Naya Gaon, Parel, Kalaewadi. On Dec 1: Low water pressure. On December 2: Water supply suspended

‘L’ Ward: Kurla East areas – including Navin Tilak Nagar, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Sable Nagar, Santoshimata Nagar, Kranti Nagar. On Dec 1: Water supply suspended in some areas. On December 2: Low water pressure

Affected areas in ‘M East’ Ward: Lallubhai Compound, Kamla Raman Nagar, Vashi Naka, Bhaba Atomic Research Centre, New Bharat Nagar, Rafik Nagar, Mandala, Padma Nagar. Water supply will be suspended in several zones on December 1 and on Dec 2 there will be Low water pressure

‘M West’ Ward: Chembur Camp, Maithri Park, Subhash Nagar, Lal Dongar, Vashi Gaon, Ambapada, Bhakti Park, MMRC buildings, Tilak Nagar, Mukund Nagar.

Dec 1: Water supply suspended in some areas

Dec 2: Low water pressure

‘N’ Ward: Vidyavihar East, Chittaranjan Nagar, Pant Nagar, Ghatkopar East and West, Garodia Nagar, Laxmi Nagar, Ramabai Nagar, Vikhroli Gaon, Godrej Trees.

Dec 1: Water supply suspended in certain areas

Dec 2: Low water pressure

Mumbai Water Outage In ‘S’ Ward: Nahur East, Bhandup East, Kanjur East, Tagore Nagar, Kannamwar Nagar, Vikhroli East.

Dec 1: Water supply suspended

Dec 2: Low water pressure

"Residents are advised to store sufficient water in advance. The BMC has requested citizens’ cooperation," officials said.
