Mumbai MMR Water Cut: Residents in parts of Thane district, Maharashtra, will experience water supply interruptions on Wednesday, June 4, due to essential maintenance work at the Temghar Water Treatment Plant. The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) announced that the water supply will be shut down from 9 AM to 9 PM on that day.

Thane 12-Hour Water Cut: Affected Areas

According to a Mid-Day report, the areas affected by this 12-hour shutdown include Ghodbunder Road, Vartak Nagar, Ritu Park, Jail, Gandhi Nagar, Rustomjee, Siddhanchal, Samata Nagar, Siddheshwar, Eternity, Johnson and parts of Kalwa. The planned maintenance includes pre-monsoon servicing of the high-pressure substation, control panel repairs, and transformer oil filtration, all crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of the water supply system during the rainy season.

Although some areas will be without water, supply from other sources, such as the Shahad Temghar Water Supply Authority (STEM), will continue in unaffected locations with adjusted distribution. However, TMC officials have warned that water pressure may remain low for one to two days after the supply resumes. Residents are advised to store water in advance to avoid inconvenience.

Kandivali Water Cut

In a related update, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has also announced water supply disruptions in parts of Kandivali on June 2 and 3. This temporary shutdown is due to pipeline repair works in Kandivali East under the R-South Ward. The BMC stated that the water supply will be completely halted from 1:30 PM on June 2 until 7:30 AM on June 3.

The work involves connecting a new 900-mm diameter water pipeline and installing a valve at the entrance of Thakur Complex, near the Western Express Highway.

Kandivali Water Cut: Affected Areas

Areas affected during this shutdown include Thakur Village, Samata Nagar MHADA, Chikhalwadi, Janupada and Kandivali (East). Residents in these areas, who typically receive water between 6:25 PM and 8:25 PM, will experience a complete lack of supply on June 2.

The BMC has urged residents to store sufficient water in advance and to use it sparingly during the maintenance period.
