Mumbai Viral News: A video showing a woman parking her bicycle inside a Mumbai Metro coach has gone viral on social media, drawing attention to the metro’s cycle parking facility available on Lines 2A and 7. The feature, which has been operational since 2022, allows passengers to carry and secure their bicycles during travel, free of cost.
The initiative was introduced to promote eco-friendly transportation and improve last-mile connectivity for commuters who prefer cycling to or from metro stations. Inside the metro, hooks are installed in designated areas where bicycles can be safely parked throughout the journey.
Woman’s Video Demonstrates How The Feature Works
In the viral video, the woman is seen parking her bicycle in a dedicated space inside the metro. She then lifts the front wheel and attaches it to a hook designed to hold the cycle vertically. A person off-camera can be heard guiding her through the process. Her cheerful reaction after successfully parking and removing the bicycle impressed many viewers.

The clip was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on October 11, with a caption praising the facility: “This is a fantastic feature in the Mumbai Metro. I hope more people start using it.”
Mumbai Viral Video: Mixed Reactions From Netizens
While the video received appreciation from several users for promoting sustainable transport, it also sparked a debate about the practicality of the facility in Mumbai’s crowded metro network.
One user wrote, “Keeping cycles in the metro sounds nice, but in peak hours, it could be impossible to manage.” Another added, “The concept is great for awareness, but not realistic for regular commuters in a city with over two crore people.”
