The weather department added that the monsoon rains are likely to intensify over the next 48 hours, with a yellow alert issued for heavy rainfall accompanied by overcast skies and gusty winds for the next week. Mumbaikars may witness moderate rain with generally cloudy skies on July 20.

According to the latest forecast, the IMD has not issued any rain alert for July 20, but rainfall activity is likely to increase over the next 48 hours. However, the city may witness more rain this week.
July 20 (Sunday): The weather remains hot and humid with generally cloudy skies and chances of moderate rain in the evening or at night. However, no alert is in place.
July 21 (Monday): As the rainfall activity is expected to increase, a yellow alert for moderate rain with gusty winds blowing at a speed of 30-40 kmph is in place.
July 22 (Tuesday): As per the IMD forecast, moderate rain is likely with overcast skies and thunderstorms. Temperature is expected to stay mild with steady humidity.
July 23 (Wednesday): The rainfall activity is expected to pick up on July 23 as a yellow alert for heavy rain is issued by the weather department. The city may witness generally cloudy skies throughout the day.
July 24 (Thursday): Similar weather conditions are likely to prevail on July 24. Heavy rainfall may lash several parts of Mumbai on Thursday. Overcast skies are expected.
July 25 (Friday): Though no warning is in place for July 25, rain is likely during the day. The temperature may remain relatively stable, and a drop in humidity is expected.
July 26 (Saturday): As of now, no severe weather alert has been issued. Rain is likely to continue, and the sky is expected to remain overcast throughout the day.
Heavy downpour may lead to waterlogging and traffic snarls in different parts of the city throughout the week. The weather department has advised people to remain cautious and take necessary precautions.
