Pune News: A 24-year-old IT professional was found dead inside the premises of a major technology company in Hinjawadi Phase 3, Pimpri-Chinchwad, during the early hours of Tuesday. The incident occurred at the Rajiv Gandhi IT Park, triggering a police investigation.
According to a Free press Journal report, Police identified the deceased as Sujal Vinod Oswal, a resident of Wanowrie in Pune. He was employed as an IT engineer with Tata Consultancy Services, which operates from the Hinjawadi campus in Mulshi tehsil.
According to police officials, Oswal entered the company premises late at night and went to the canteen area. He then locked himself inside a restroom. He was later found dead in the early hours of Tuesday. Police said he is suspected to have died by suicide.
Speaking to the media, Vishal Gaikwad, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2), said preliminary findings suggest the incident took place between 12.30 AM and 12.45 AM. He added that Oswal had sent a message to his family shortly before the incident, expressing distress over heavy financial losses linked to online betting.
Police teams from Hinjawadi Police Station reached the spot after being alerted by company staff. The body was found inside the restroom and was later sent for post-mortem examination.

Officials said the initial investigation points to severe mental stress caused by debt as the possible reason behind the incident. A detailed panchanama has been conducted, and an Accidental Death Report (ADR) will be registered at the Hinjawadi police station.
Further investigation is ongoing under the supervision of DCP Vishal Gaikwad and Senior Police Inspector Balaji Pandhare to establish all circumstances surrounding the case.
