Pune Metro Line 3 Delayed: The officials on Thursday stated that the elevated Metro corridor between Shivajinagar and Hinjewadi is not likely to be ready for operation ahead of 2026. They stated that the construction is unlikely to be completed ahead of the deadline, adding that the trials are expected to be conducted after December 2025. Several reports suggest that the authority has already urged the government to extend the deadline as it has missed its earlier deadline of Sept 2025.
The officials stated that almost 85 per cent of the construction work is already completed. He further stated that the last land parcel of Raj Bhavan was handed over recently, adding that the transfer of land in several key areas was pending. "At present, 83 to 85 per cent of work has been completed. The integrated flyover at University Chowk was expected to be completed by April-May," a senior PMRDA official was quoted as saying by the Times of India.

The officials confirmed that the trial runs are only expected to begin after December, adding that the trial runs of the trains must be conducted almost two months ahead of the regular operations. "The trial runs usually take two to two-and-a-half months. It would all depend on the completion date. Once the date would be set, the remaining timelines, too, would fall in place," the official added.
Another official stated that while almost 85 per cent of the construction of the 23-km-long elevated corridor has already been completed, the ramps are still being built on one side of the integrated flyover from University Chowk to E-square junction. "Construction of ramps and deck slabs was pending at one end. The remaining was being executed," the official was quoted as saying by TOI.
