A men’s rights group of around 250 men from India and abroad will hold an event in Pune this week to oppose the women’s reservation Bill and other laws that they see as discriminatory against men. The group will also conduct a puja to honour Elon Musk as the “god of free speech” for allowing them to express their views freely on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

The group, founded in 2005, consists mostly of software engineers working in multinationals and NRIs. The members of the group claim to be against all affirmative action and positive steps for women, such as alimony, laws on marital rape, domestic violence, dowry, sexual harassment and rape, free bus and metro tickets for women, all-women colleges and ladies’ nights in bars.

“We are against all affirmative action and all positive steps for women because we see it as gender discrimination. We want everything to stop until men get the bare minimum. We see this as a war on men,” said Murty, who is a graduate from the IIT and Banaras Hindu University as reported by The Indian Express.
