Pune Traffic Advisory: In light of the inauguration of the ‘Mukhyamantri – Mazi Ladki Bahin Yojana’ at the Shivchhatrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi today, the Pune city and Pimpri Chinchwad police have announced several traffic changes. A large crowd is expected, with around 900 buses arriving via the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway for the event.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, along with Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, will be attending, alongside many political activists and local citizens.

Pune Traffic Diverted From Baner Road

According to police, traffic will be diverted from Baner Road as necessary on the day of the event.

Vehicles travelling from the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) junction to Radha Chowk along Baner Road will be redirected from Ganraj Chowk to the Nanaware underpass.

Mumbai-Bengaluru Highway Traffic Disrupted

Traffic coming from the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway towards Baner Road will be diverted at the Balewadi toll post, directing them to Ganraj Chowk in Baner.

Avoid THESE Route While Travelling From Pune To Hinjewadi, Wakad, Lonavala and Mumbai

Authorities have advised commuters heading from Pune city to Hinjewadi, Wakad, Lonavala and Mumbai to avoid the route from the SPPU junction to Baner Road. Instead, they should opt for Pashan Road to Chandni Chowk or SPPU junction to Aundh Road.

Heavy Vehicles Restricted On THESE Roads

On August 17, from 1 am to 12 pm, heavy vehicles will not be permitted on several routes, including SPPU junction to Chandni Chowk along Pashan Road, SPPU junction to Radha Chowk via Baner Road and SPPU junction to Rajiv Gandhi Bridge via Aundh Road.

Heavy Vehicles Restricted On Mumbai-Bengaluru Highway

Moreover, Vishal Gaikwad, Deputy Commissioner of Police (traffic) for Pimpri Chinchwad, stated that heavy vehicles, except for emergency services, will also be restricted on the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway from Chandni Chowk to Urse toll post between 6 pm and 8 pm on the same day. During this time, heavy vehicles will not be allowed from Chakan to the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway, Pune city to the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway and from Talegaon and Dehu Road to the highway.
