A 38-year-old woman and her partner have been booked in connection with the rape of her 15-year-old daughter, a Thane police official said. The victim said that on November 9, 2023, she saw her mother and the accused in a compromising position, prompting the police investigation, news agency PTI reported citing Kasarwadavli police station.
The police official stated that the accsued raped the girl with the help from woman. “A case of rape, criminal intimidation, assault and other offences was registered under POCSO Act on Wednesday on the complaint of the girl's father,” the official was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
The official offered no reasons for the delay in registering the case. No arrests have been made so far, and the investigation is still ongoing, the police official said.
In another incident which was reported from Bihar, two men were arrested in connection with an assault and gang rape incident in Suryagarha village, Lakhisarai. According to the police, the accused men entered the house with masks and demanded cigarettes.
When the man refused to open the gate, they dragged his mother into the courtyard, where they allegedly assaulted her and raped her. The attackers also severely injured the elderly man during the incident.
Upon receiving information, the police arrived at the scene and launched an investigation. The accused, identified as Vishal Kumar and Saurabh Kumar, residents of the same village, were arrested. According to media reports, the two were under the influence of alcohol during the incident.
Earlier, a woman in Bengaluru was allegedly sexually assaulted on Sunday night by two men who had offered her a lift. The incident took place under the jurisdiction of the SJ Park Police Station.
The accused, identified as Saravana and Ganesh, were arrested by the police following the victim’s report.The woman, around 11:30 PM near the KR Market bus station, was on her way to visit her brother in the Yelahanka area.
