Adhik Maas Amavasya 2023 Date:  In the Sanatan Dharma, Malmas, Adhik Maas, or Purushottam Maas are of special importance. The custom of worship, chanting, and fasting during Adhik Maas is said to bestow upon the seeker blessings of joy and prosperity. The Amavasya Tithi that falls in this month is also considered very significant. 

Hindus refer to the new moon night as Amavasya. It is the first night of the lunar month's first quarter. Amavasya is sometimes referred to as "no moon night" because the moon is not visible on the day. Hinduism considers Amavasya as a significant day of spiritual value. This day is often chosen by Hindus to give offerings (tarpan) to their deceased ancestors, known as "Pitra".

Malmas Amavasya 2023 Date (Tithi) 

- The Amavasya Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Shravan Adhik Maas will begin at 12:42 PM on August 15 and end at 03:07 PM on August 16 according to the Hindu Panchang. 

- In accordance with this tithi, the Purushottam Maas Amavasya fast will be observed on Wednesday, August 15, 2023. 

- Variayan Yog will be formed on this significant day, which is considered ideal for doing worship or performing auspicious activities. 

Malmas Amavasya 2023 Significance And Importance 

Adhik Maas or Purushottam Maas comes once in 3 years. Similarly, the date of Malmas Amavasya also falls once every three years. Performing puja on this day is considered to be very auspicious and rewarding. It is believed that by taking a bath and donating in the name of one's ancestors on this special day, the seeker gets renewable virtue and gets many types of comforts in life. In addition, by doing tarpan on this special day, the souls of the ancestors get peace and their blessings remain on the seeker.
