Dev Diwali 2025: Kartik Purnima or Dev Deepawali is celebrated exactly 15 days after the Diwali celebrations. This sacred day is devoted to the worship of Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu, Goddess Lakshmi and Shri Tulsi Devi. Devotees celebrate this occasion just like Diwali by lighting lamps, making rangolis and offering special pujas. It is believed that all the demigods or Devatas celebrate this sacred occasion, and hence, the festival of Dev Diwali holds a high regard in Hinduism. This year, Dev Diwali or Kartik Purnima will be observed by the devotees on 5th November 2025.

1. Take A Sacred Dip In Holy Rivers
Bathing in various sacred water bodies during significant festivals is considered very important in Sanatan Dharma. Therefore, the devotees should visit the Ganges, Yamuna, or any other water body and bathe in the morning to attain virtuous results on the sacred occasion of Dev Diwali.
2. Donate To The Needy
On the sacred occasion of Dev Diwali or Kartik Purnima, the devotees should donate fruits, food, money and clothes to those in need after taking a bath and performing prescribed rituals. It is believed that anything donated on Dev Deepawali is multiplied in great numbers.
3. Offer Lamps To The Gods
On the day of Dev Deepawali, there is a tradition of offering lamps along with various donations. For this, the devotees must light 11, 21, 51, or 108 diyas at home or near a sacred water body. If done cannot go to a river pilgrimage, they must light the diya in the north direction of home. It is believed that lighting diyas on this day bestows the utmost blessings of the gods and goddesses upon the person and brings them happiness and good fortune.

4. Offer Tulsi To Lord Vishnu
In Hinduism, Goddess Tulsi is called Vishnu Priya. It is believed that Lord Vishnu is very fond of Tulsi. Therefore, on the day of Diwali, be sure to offer Tulsi to Lord Vishnu in special prayers. The devotees can offer a special garland made of Tulsi leaves to Lord Vishnu on the sacred occasion of Dev Diwali.
5. Offer Bilwa Leaves To Lord Shiva
The devotees must offer 21 bilwa leaves to Lord Shiva on the sacred occasion of Dev Diwali to receive good fortune, success and prosperity. Lord Shiva is specifically worshipped on this sacred day, and offering Bel Patra to Mahadev invites his choicest blessings. Additionally, the devotees must chant the Om Namah Shivaya Mantra to reap additional benefits.

6. Worship Tulsi Plant
Dev Diwali marks the conclusion of the 5-day-long Tulsi Vivah celebration. Therefore, the devotees must worship Tulsi Devi by offering jal and raw milk. Additionally, offer flowers, ghee deepak and incense and perform parikrama around the tulsi plant to please Lord Vishnu and invite good fortune, success and positivity in your home.
