Airtel Starlink Partnership: One of the largest telecom operators in India Bharti Airtel has joined hands with Elon Musk's SpaceX. This move was taken to provide high-speed internet services to its users in India.

Although the agreement is subject to authorizations that SpaceX needs to receive to sell Starlink's satellite-based communication in India, Airtel stated in a statement.

The agreement will allow Airtel and SpaceX to explore how Starlink can enhance and extend Airtel’s services while leveraging Airtel’s expertise in the Indian market to support SpaceX’s direct offerings to consumers and businesses.

Airtel will be adding Starlink to its portfolio which already includes the telecom giants' partnership with Eutelsat OneWeb. This step points towards the company's aim to provide better connectivity solutions for its users in India. This means that you can expect enhanced internet access in regions that have faced minimal or no internet, expanding its offerings for enterprises, businesses, and communities, giving it a competitive edge over rivals like Jio and Vi.

Bharti Airtel's Managing Director in a statement iterated that this is a significant milestone and Airtel's agreement with SpaceX which would offer Starlink services also demonstrates the telecom giants' commitment to serve next-gen satellite connectivity.

“This collaboration enhances our ability to bring world-class high-speed broadband to even the most remote parts of India, ensuring that every individual, business, and community has reliable internet. Starlink will complement and enhance Airtel’s suite of products to ensure reliable and affordable broadband for our Indian customers – wherever they live and work,” Vittal said.

Regulatory approvals are currently pending for this to happen, but we might get to experience this in the near future.
