Apple AirPods Max Update: Big news for AirPods Max users: A major software update next month will introduce lossless audio and ultra-low latency, transforming how you experience music, movies, and gaming. Whether you’re a casual listener or a pro-level music creator, this update promises to enhance both playback and production.
Lossless Audio: Hear Music Exactly as Intended
With this update, AirPods Max will support 24-bit, 48 kHz lossless audio, maintaining the full quality of original recordings. Apple Music users will be able to enjoy over 100 million songs in lossless audio, bringing a more detailed and immersive listening experience. Even Personalized Spatial Audio gets a boost, now delivering an uncompressed, studio-quality sound that’s truer to the artist’s original mix.

A Game Changer for Music Production
For music producers and creators, this update means AirPods Max can be fully integrated into professional workflows on Logic Pro and other DAWs. When connected via USB-C, these headphones will be the only ones capable of both creating and mixing in Personalized Spatial Audio with head tracking. That means low-latency, high-resolution digital audio — perfect for tracking, editing, and mixing without sacrificing quality.
Faster Audio for Gaming and Livestreaming
Gamers and streamers, this one’s for you: ultra-low latency audio ensures sound syncs seamlessly with visuals. Apple claims latency will now be on par with built-in speakers on Mac, iPad, and iPhone, making in-game audio and live content feel more responsive and immersive.
Pricing and Availability
The lossless audio and ultra-low latency update will roll out as a free firmware update in April with iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, and macOS Sequoia 15.4 for AirPods Max with USB-C.
AirPods Max is currently available for INR 59,900 in midnight, starlight, blue, purple, and orange via apple.com/in/store, the Apple Store app, and Apple Authorized Resellers.
The USB-C to 3.5 mm audio cable, also available now for INR 3,900, lets users connect to traditional audio sources like airplane jacks or car stereos.
Whether you’re creating music, gaming, or just streaming your favourite tracks, this update could make AirPods Max a top pick for high-fidelity listening.
