iOS 17.1 Released: Apple, a Cupertino-based tech giant, has launched its new iOS 17.1 and iPadOS 17.1 update. The package offers an improved experience for the OS which debuted after the launch of the new iPhone 15 series. This update comes after the rumours of the new iPhone OS version debuting this month.
You can download the software from the "Settings" app's "Software Update" section. For starters, the changes include an option to AirDrop files using the internet when the connected device is not in range. Here are more significant changes that you should know.
Users can now mark songs, albums, and playlists as favourites in Apple Music. New track suggestions shall appear at the bottom, and a new cover art collection has been introduced to reflect the music in a playlist. Bugs such as screen ghosting and Significant Location reset issue has been addressed in the build release. Plus, a fix for an issue that does not display names within the dialer when a user is on another call and crash detection optimisation is bundled with the build. As for iPadOS 17.1, among the significant changes is the support for the new Apple Pencil USB-C.
The new iOS 17.1 and iPadOS 17.1 are available for "iPhone XS and later, iPad Pro 12.9-inch 2nd generation and later, iPad Pro 10.5-inch, iPad Pro 11-inch 1st generation and later, iPad Air 3rd generation and later, iPad 6th generation and later, and iPad mini 5th generation and later."
Apple has also fixed an update that boosts cellular connections when the device is not in the hands of the user, according to MacRumors.
