APPLE will announce the iPhone 15 series later this year, and leaks hint that the vanilla iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus could debut with an upgraded 48MP camera on the back. The information comes from Jeff Pu, an analyst at Haitong International Securities, via a MacRumors report.
In the research note accessed by the news outlet, Pu states that the 48MP lens would have a 'three-stacked sensor' that will capture 'more light' for better image output. However, supply chain issues could lead to delayed manufacturing of the 15 and 15 Plus. Still, the report is confident of a September debut.

Apple introduced 48MP on the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max. It allows a user to capture full-resolution ProRAW images for rich details and editing possibilities.
The analyst was also among the first to report that the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro models would not have solid-state buttons. But he speculates that the phones will have a titanium frame, powerful A17 Bionic, and more RAM alongside a USB Type-C port.
As per the 9To5Mac, Pu anticipates that the storage variants will remain identical at 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB for the non-Pro models. A 1TB model could be reserved for the 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max. We will have to wait to see if these rumours and leaks turn out correct at the time of launch.
On a related note, a report from TrendForce claims that Tata Group will assemble a portion of the total iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus in India. With the move, the group will become the fourth iPhone assembler and join the party with Foxconn, Luxshare and Pegatron.
Meanwhile, for comparison, the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus boasts a 12MP primary camera and a 12MP ultra-wide sensor. It has 2x optical zoom and 5x digital zoom. The 15 Plus has a screen size of 6.7 inches and the 15 has a display spanning 6.1 inches. The current models lack Dynamic Island. This is expected to change with the debut of the vanilla 15 and the 15 Plus models, reports hint.
