JE Technology Desk: Apple iPhone 15 series has been the talk of the town for months now. The rumour mill has churned several details about the upcoming phone ranging from the USB Type-C port to thinner screen bezels. In the latest leaks, a tipster leaked the protective case of the iPhone 15 Pro Max that offers insights into the design elements of the upcoming premium device.

Noted leakster Majin Bu shared the protective cover of the 15 Pro Max on the micro-blogging site Twitter. Among the notable changes visible in the case is the relocation of the Mute Switch, which has been sitting on the frame for the past 16 years, according to Gizmochina. In the present versions, the switch is placed on the left side of the frame. A narrow oval cutout on the protective covers ensures a user can toggle it easily.

Coming of the change, the cutout is now broader and has more rounded corners. Media reports hint that the new opening is for the "Custom Button" that will replace the classic mute switch in the upcoming 'Pro' models.

Unlike 'Mute Switch', this new button could have a mini processor that would let users accomplish tasks when the device is switched off or when the iPhone's battery is about to die, the report adds. The functions could encompass secure transactions via Apple Pay and locating an iPhone.

The case also has a noticeable camera bump and a larger space for camera layout that cements the claim of upgrades to the camera sensors on the upcoming flagship from Apple.

Meanwhile, the upcoming Apple iPhone 15 series will likely comprise four smartphones: iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Reports on a possible debut of an 'Ultra' model this time, but they have settled now, and we are not sure whether we will get to see the device this year. The above-stated models could likely make an official appearance in September this year.
