Apple iPhone 15 series has been making waves across the internet for a while now. While the handset is all set for an announcement on September 12, the latest report packs some good news for fans in India. According to an Economic Times report, the Cupertino-based tech giant is looking forward to trimming the gap between the global debut and the India availability of the iPhone 15.
Apple is reportedly working to unveil the upcoming device manufactured at Foxconn's Chennai plant in mid-September in the country, citing sources, ET reported. Last year, it took close to a month after launch to send the new India-made iPhone 14 models in the hands of the users. The gap this time will be significantly less, around "few" days, and preparations are going on in full swing, the report noted.
The launch will be followed by the festive season, where a surge in demand might restrict exports. As per the report, India handles around 7 per cent of the total production of iPhones worldwide currently. According to HT Tech, only non-Pro models will be made in India.
iPhone 15 Launch Date
Speaking of updates on upcoming models, the iPhone 15 series may come with Dynamic Island, a 48MP primary camera and a USB Type-C port. This year, the tech giant may announce four new models: iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The company may also introduce new Apple Watch Series and second-generation Watch Ultra at the event.
The vanilla and Plus models are tipped to have an A16 chip for performance. On the other hand, the Pro variants may have an A17 Bionic chip. A periscope lens (on Pro Max), titanium frame and an Action Button that may replace the Mute Switch are also tipped on the upcoming top-end and Pro variant. You can read more on this here.
