Cupertino-based tech giant Apple has revised its vintage and obsolete list of products to make fresh additions, including the iPhone 5s, iPod Touch (6th generation), and an iMac PC. Among these products, the iPhone 5s has been marked "obsolete". Apple says a product is considered obsolete if the company stopped its distribution and sales over seven years ago.

The company discontinues hardware services for an obsolete offering, and service providers cannot order parts for these products. As an exception to this clause, Mac laptops may be eligible for a battery-only repair for up to 10 years from the period when the product loses steam from the sales distribution cycle. But this may be subject to parts availability.

Speaking of the iPhone 5s, the handset debuted in September 2013 and had a Touch ID fingerprint sensor inside the Home Button and an A7 chipset based on a 64-bit architecture. On the other hand, the iPod Touch (6th generation) was marketed as "vintage". The company considers a product vintage when it stops distributing them for sale for over five years but less than seven years.

The iMac (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, Late 2015) was marked as "vintage". Apple may offer repairs for the iPod and iMac for two more years, subject to the availability of parts. For context, the sixth-gen iPod Touch debuted in 2015 and was the second-last product in the iPod Touch series (discontinued in 2022), according to MacRumors.

Meanwhile, the company recently marked the iPhone 6 Plus as "obsolete" and iPhone 8 Red and iPhone 8 Plus Red as "vintage". You can read more on this here.
