Apple Vision Pro is all set to launch in the US on February 2. While many video platforms have shown their reluctance to introduce an XR-optimised app for the headset, Zoom is all set to embrace the new experience. The company has introduced a dedicated video conferencing app for the Vision Pro which is all set to let users connect with people in an immersive environment.

Zoom's new app will debut with the launch of the headset. The company aims to blur the difference between physical and remote meetings using its offering and let users feel more connected to the environment. Wearers of the Vision Pro will be able to start, join, schedule and collaborate in meetings with the app.

The company shared two features that will be available on the Zoom app on visionOS at the time of launch: In the meetings, users will be represented via digital 'Personas' to let members glance at the wearers' facial and hand gestures via their spatial replica. The 'Spatial Zoom' feature will allow the headset users to adjust the size of the meeting interface without any additional tools.

Moreover, the company shared a host of features that will be available in spring: The option to share '3D objects' in virtual reality during meetings will arrive in the future. "For instance, an animator or game designer could collaborate and share the latest character model via Zoom's 3D object sharing capabilities," Zoom said.

The company will also bring 'Team Chat' for Zoom meetings to ease the process of sharing content during video calls. This will ease the collaboration process and streamline communication in the app. Zoom will also introduce the option to pin (Real-world pinning) up to five participants in a meeting in their space and remove their background to let the wearer feel more immersed in meetings with them. "Users will be able to download Zoom from the App Store when Apple Vision Pro launches on February 2, 2024," Zoom said.
