Apple’s Awe Dropping September 9, 2025 launch event wasn’t all about iPhone 17 line up either. The Cupertino company also took the wraps off its latest wearables — the Apple Watch Series 11 and Apple Watch Ultra 3. The pair will build on Apple’s strengths: health and safety, design and foray into new features like hypertension monitoring, live translations and two-way satellite connectivity.

Apple Watch Series 11: Refinement Meets Health Innovation

The Apple Watch Series 11 continues Apple’s push into health and wellness while improving durability and usability.

  • Stronger Display: Features stronger Ion-X strengthened glass with a new ceramic layer deposited over the top, using physical vapor deposition, offering twice the scratch resistance of the original.
  • Design: Made with 100% recycled titanium and aluminum, the Apple Watch SE cements Apple’s commitment to sustainable production.
  • Performance: Comes with watchOS 26, 5G and fast-charging support. Battery life is promised to reach 24 hours on a single charge.
  • Health Features: Keeps ECG and irregular rhythm notifications, adds a Sleep Score system for daily sleep monitoring and brings Hypertension notifications. This new system relies on the optical heart sensor to scan the user’s blood vessels for any signals over a 30-day period and will inform them if that have any suspicious particles.
  • Other Features: On-device live translations, retrospective ovulation estimates, and temperature sensing, turning the Series 11 into an even broader health companion.

Apple Watch Ultra 3: Built for Extremes

The Apple Watch Ultra 3 takes rugged durability and advanced connectivity to new heights, making it Apple’s most powerful smartwatch yet.

  • Bigger Display: Sports the largest display ever on an Apple Watch with LTPO3 wide-angle OLED technology. The bezels are 24% thinner, maximizing active screen area while keeping the case compact. Always-on support runs as low as 1Hz for efficiency.
  • Battery Life: Lasts up to 42 hours on average usage and up to 72 hours on Low Power Mode. With GPS and heart rate on, it goes for 20 hours. Quick charging delivers 12 hours of battery life in 15 minutes.
  • Satellite Communication: With added two-way satellite messaging, the inReach Mini is able to send and receive inReach messages with a compatible device for detailed directions, backcountry waypoint info and more --from anywhere on the planet. It auto phones emergency services and guardian's contact in the event of a severe fall or if there is a catastrophic accident inside satellite reach.
  • Workout Upgrades: New Workout app, intensive GPS tracking, extra health related features like the Sleep Score system and Hypertension notifications.
  • Durability: The Watch Ultra 3 is designed for adventure and has the rugged titanium, 5G support, and fast charging to prove it, squarely targeting athletes, explorers, and professionals who require their device to be dependable even in challenging environments.

Price and Availability

  • Apple Watch Series 11: Beginning at $399 (approximately Rs 35,000) globally, ₹46,900 in India. Comes in 42mm and 46mm sizes with aluminum cases in Jet Black, Rose Gold, Silver, and Space Gray and polished titanium cases in Natural, Gold, and Slate. There’s also a limited edition Hermès version in silver titanium.
  • Apple Watch Ultra 3: Its price is $799 (approximately ₹71,000) in the US. Available in Natural and Black Titanium case finishes and in refreshed band options, including the all-new Ocean Band, Alpine Loop, and Hermès En Mer styles.

Both the smartwatches are up for pre-order now and will be available to purchase on September 19, 2025, in over 50 countries such as India, the US, the UK, Canada, France, Japan and Germany.
