Claude, Anthropic’s AI chatbot, is now even more useful—especially for those who work with Canva for their design projects. With a new integration, Claude is able to generate, edit, and even manage designs in Canva. This all can be done via simple text prompts.
This also means that you can ask Claude to make a presentation, resize images, populate a brand template, or even summarise documents from Canva Docs—all without leaving the chat window.
What Can Claude Do with Canva Now?
With the integration, users now have the ability to:
Develop new design concepts or generate new presentations from scratch using natural language.
Change image size or other graphic elements to suit different formats, including social media and print.
Look up certain keywords in Canva Docs, templates, and presentations.
Summarise texts contained in the documents.
Perform review as well as publish the designs and many others without filing the traditional upload/download and tab-switching hustle.
In short, Claude serves as an internal creative helper within Canva, reducing redundant tasks and allowing the balance of creativity and productivity.
Here’s the Catch
To access the Claude-Canva integration, there are constraints:
You must hold both Claude Pro and Canva Pro (or Teams) subscriptions.
Set up is accomplished through Claude's interface, where users grant or deny access to Canva via a toggle in the settings.
What’s Enabling All This?
This collaboration is based on Model Context Protocol (MCP), which is the framework-in-use developed by Canva in June 2025. It has been referred to as 'USB-C for AI' because it enables models like Claude to plug into other applications such as Canva, Figma or Microsoft Products and exchange information seamlessly.

Microsoft, Figma, and now Anthropic are placing their bets on MCP as the driver of tomorrow's AI-connected workflows.
More Integrations Coming
Anthropic also unveiled a new integrations directory for the web and desktop apps of Claude, simplifying the navigation of other supported applications. Just the other day, Claude added Figma integration so more partnerships are likely on the way.
For Canva users who have access to Claude Pro, this integration offers the potential to significantly enhance efficiency in the creative workflow. The feature comes at a cost, but the productivity enhancement value it can offer some users justifies the expense.
