Google Workspace apps like Docs, Sheets and Slides are popular worldwide for their ease of usability and integration with Google Account. The tech giant regularly brings new features and enhancements into these products to upscale user experience. This week, the company introduced two updates for users, out of which the prominent one is a new look on Android for Docs, Sheets and Slides.
In a Workspace Updates post, the company said "a modernised visual design" for these apps will roll out for Android users. The changes include a refreshed editing toolbar, newer icons, background colours and more.

Secondly, the company said when a user opens "a new spreadsheet or tab" in Sheets, they will now see "Type @ to insert" to let users use the smart canvas feature easily. These new enhancements will be available for all Workspace clients and are already rolling out. The blog added the feature visibility will not take more than 15 business days.
In a previous set of changes, Google updated the menu and sub-menu options in Google Drive. The company also rolled out a new disable submission feature for Google Classroom to pause submissions after a stipulated period of time.
Speaking of Google Docs, the company introduced display page numbers that are now displayed next to each line on a page once configured. Plus, eSignature launched in open beta for Workspace Individual subscribers recently. This feature allows a beta tester to add and request Signatures in contracts in Google Docs.
In Google Slides, the tech giant introduced a feature that allows users to highlight a part of the slide while presenting. The new pen tool can let users underline or draw on slides. As for Sheets, the company announced an option for bulk conversion of location chips. You can use the feature from the insert menu. For more details on this, click here.
